Our Vision



To be a thriving, dynamic and contemporary Rotary District that inspires service above self amongst its members and all who come into contact with Rotary.

Our District Mission



  • To support Clubs in our District to fulfil the Objects of Rotary
  • To promote within the District the concept of Service as a worthy endeavour
  • To strengthen and expand Rotary to communities both within and outside the District
  • To support Club growth in our District
  • To foster unity and fellowship among Clubs in our District.

Our Plan



The objectives of District 9800 in the 2007/2008 Rotary year are:

By Clubs
  • Clubs meet criteria for Rotary International Presidential Citation
  • District increase of a minimum net gain of 140 members, representing an increase of a net gain of two members per club
  • Clubs meet the RI Foundation contribution target or participate in a Foundation project
  • Enhance the ideal of fellowship for every Rotarian, partner and family
  • Rotarians are knowledgeable in Rotary principles
  • Concentrate on the number of clubs with less than 20 members

By District

  • Rationalise number of District projects supported by clubs and to be featured at the District Assembly
  • District Conferences, PETS and District Assembly to be inspirational and stimulating to satisfy all Rotarians
  • The District Management Group meetings to be the catalyst for change and open discussion on the successful management of D9800
  • To form partnerships with other community organisations and within the corporate world
  • To ensure all clubs within the District are viable and meeting the minimum requirements of RI
  • To increase the membership in our District to over 3,000
  • Appoint a Marketing Director to the District Board to create a greater public awareness of Rotary and its contribution to the welfare of others.
